Default q9 str shield on my para

so i love the magmas shield but it doesnt come in command or tactics and i have a q9 str one so im wandering how much of a difference in armor would it make. if my shield is

16ar.
+30hp
+10ar vs cold/fire/ and what not

would i still get all the armor and health even tho im not 9str?

and i run a imbagon mostly.

You will get 8 from the base (16) ar and all the other mods (+30hp, +10ar vs fire/cold/). You won't percieve that much difference, though i would still recommend using a shield with a req you meet when playing with pple (unless playing with friends/guildies who doesn't mind ofc).

If you don't meet the requirement of a shield, you will get 8 base armor from it. You will always get all of the advantages of all mods.

Wiki page on Shields
Quote:
If your character does not meet the requirement, he/she will only gain 8 base armor rating (excluding mods, which still have full effect) if the shield was either: any randomly generated drop (8-16 base armor rating), or if it's a 16 armor rating shield that's not randomly generated (for example, it is a collector shield, unique, or PvP Equipment). Your character will gain only 5 armor rating if that shield was not a randomly generated drop and was below 16 base armor rating. At least one exception exists (Longtooth's Shield which grants 6 armor rating).

You get the mods regardless of your attributes, but the armor is based on your Strength Attribute. Without any Strength you end up getting 8 armor instead of 16. If you need more info on this, wiki has all you need to know.

Wiki provides:

-8 armor = 1.1487 damage multiplier

In other words, you are taking 15% more damage than when you meet the requirement.

meh, u will take a little bit more dmg, but if you are running imbagon, ur healers should be able to compensate easily for any extra dmg u may be taking. ;-)
